Sri Lankan racing driver Yevan David will join Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship, the team announced today (October 14).
David, who moves from AIX Racing – the team he represented in the 2026 Formula 3 Championship – will begin working with his new team during official post-season testing in Barcelona later this month.
David finished 18th out of 35 drivers in this year's Formula 3 season, scoring 35 points and securing an impressive podium finish in the Sprint Race at Silverstone.
Background
The move is a step up for David to a team that finished fifth in this year's team standings.
In contrast, AIX Racing, which David represented during the 2026 season, finished at the bottom of the ten-team championship.
AIX Racing was recently acquired by a new team backed by 2025 Formula One Champion Lando Norris and will race next season as LN4 Fusion.
The 10-race 2027 Formula 3 Championship will begin in Bahrain next March.
