Sri Lankan athlete Rumesh Tharanga edged out India's Neeraj Chopra to win his third Diamond League Men's Javelin event for the 2026 season, at Lausanne, Switzerland on Friday.
Tharanga threw a distance of 88.14 metres on his third attempt of the night, which put him ahead of Chopra, whose season's best throw of 88.05 metres came in the second round of attempts.
This win also means Tharanga is unbeaten in his last five javelin competitions, starting with the Rome Diamond League meet in June.
