Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, the wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was arrested today (October 7) by officers from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
According to reports, CIABOC officers taken her into custody from the Kirulapone residence where she and the former President are currently residing.
The arrest was made over allegations of misappropriation, corruption, and offenses under the Public Property Act involving a sum of Rs. 10 million obtained from a state bank.
